Taking care of yourself is taking care of business! Using principles and techniques from yoga and Ayurveda (science of life), you'll learn how to balance, nurture, and nourish yourself through the long, dry, cold season of winter. Along with lecture and handouts on daily routine, diet, rejuvenation, and self-massage, this class will include a seasonally-supportive yoga practice, breathwork, and guided relaxation. 

Bring a yoga mat if you have one (some will be available), a blanket, and wear comfortable clothing.

Ayur-what-a? An Introduction to Ayurveda

Ayurveda, the science of life, is an ancient healing system from India which teaches us how to maintain and protect our health, youthfulness, and vitality. You'll learn ow to recognize your dosha (constitution) and gain an understanding of the elements: space, air, fire, water, and earth. With awareness of the elements, cycles, and patterns in nature and your life, you can immediately begin making changes to support your own well-being! 

This class includes lectures/discussion with a 14-page lecture notes handout, six-page food list and an Ayurveda oil sample to take home. Bring your curiosity and a pen!

Yoga for Self-Care

Each season has its particular challenges. In the Fall, the temperature drops and the winds turn cold and crisp making it important for us to turn our internal temperatures up, nourish ourselves and to moisturize from head to toe! Using principles, tools and techniques from Ayurveda "science of life", you'll learn how to balance, nurture, and nourish yourself throughout the fall and winter. This workshop will include a seasonal-supportive yoga practice, breathe work, and guided relaxation. Lecture notes and a food guideline will be handed out. Bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothing.

Self-Study through the Stars, Part 1

Most people are interested in learning more about themselves. What surprises them is how much they can learn about themselves through the study of astrology. Astrology is an ancient language of symbols which offers us the opportunity to grow in understanding, awareness, compassion, and acceptance of ourselves and others. In part one of this introductory class, we’ll begin with two of the building blocks of astrology, planets and signs.

Lecture notes and book list/references are included as well as a print-out of your own natal chart. To receive an accurate natal chart, please include your birth date, exact birth time, and birth place with your registration. Please state if you don’t have an exact birth time.
